Our expert customs brokerage team can also identify any potential risks, and promptly solve issues with HMRC should they arise.
These changes are being made because HMRC are replacing CHIEF, the UK’s current customs platform with the Customs Declaration Service (CDS). CDS is a more streamlined customs platform which can handle the increased volume of import and export declarations following the UK’s exit from the EU. The switch over to CDS is due to happen in two phases, with all import declarations being made in CDS by the 1st of October 2022, and all export declarations being made in CDS by the 1st of April 2023.
We started our transition to CDS early in 2022 when we changed operating systems to handle the new software. Since then, our members of staff have undergone extensive industry training, gaining the knowledge required to deal with a variety of customs scenarios. This ensures that we can continue to provide the efficient service our customers demand. We have been clearing shipments through CDS successfully for some time so we are ready for the switchover at the end of September and can provide a seamless and stress-free transition for our customers.
We know the implementation of new systems and rules can be confusing but Supreme Freight are here to help you.
